Above, silversmith Peggy Baker performs some of the final polishing of  the sanctuary lamp for Saint James Cathedral.
Left, I’m removing the lamp from it’s bracket, the first of hundreds of steps to be taken in the restoration of this priceless treasure.

Right, I’m realigning and assembling the finished sections of the lamp.

A request by a designer for updating this pair of Gothic candlesticks led  to their conversion to a more modern form of lighting, electric table lamps.
After conversion, the candlesticks are now outfitted with new hand carved wooden bases and genuine beeswax candleholders plus the original spikes have now been incorporated into the finials of the lamps.
A beautiful example of victorian lighting in the form of a student lamp in the “Bug” motif was painstakingly restored by Omega after shipping damage.
